Tobogganing in Kirchberg in the wide Brixental

Fun tobogganing in the Kitzbühel Alps

Tobogganing or sledging should be a part of every winter holiday! It is also very popular with the locals of the Brixental. There are toboggan clubs or tobogganing associations in many towns and villages, so there are attractive and perfectly groomed toboggan runs throughout the valley. Tobogganing in Kirchberg has to be experienced.

Toboggan run in Kirchberg

Get to the start of the toboggan run on foot or with the lift, during the day or under a romantic starry sky. Stop at one of the rustic alpine huts or mountain inns and enjoy the cosy magic of a Tyrolean mountain hut . You can rent your toboggan on site at most toboggan runs.

Gaisberg toboggan run

The spectacular toboggan run on the Gaisberg is not far from AlpenParks Taxacher Hotel & Apartment. It is the only toboggan run in the surrounding area to bear the seal of approval for natural toboggan runs. The 4-seater chairlift comfortably takes you to the start, before you race down the 3.5 km run.

Tip: You can toboggan here in the evenings from 6.30 to 9.30 pm between Tuesday and Saturday (and every day during the Christmas holidays); the run is floodlit until 11pm.

Natural toboggan run Haagalm / Penningberg

The Haagalm toboggan run (Penningberg) in Kelchsau is a real classic, popular with locals and guests alike. You should plan half a day for this experience. The ascent takes around 1.5 hours to the Haagalm at an altitude of 1,350 metres. After the ascent of 400 metres you’ll have certainly earned some refreshment before heading back down into the valley on the quite challenging 3.8 kilometre toboggan run.

You’ll also find several small toboggan hills and runs in other communities in the Kitzbühel Alps  and the Brixental  – tobogganing is definitely not just for kids. Give your AlpenParks winter holiday that little bit of extra fun!
