Fragrant fir and spruce trees line the path. A cool lake shimmers in shades of green and blue. And the Dachstein greets you around the corner every day. Even the emperor knew about the uniqueness of the Salzkammergut and therefore made it his favorite summer domicile.
Back then, leisurely carriages were still needed to get from one beautiful vantage point to the next, but today the era of e-bikes has long since begun - and that's a good thing, because there are plenty of favorite spots in the Salzkammergut. You'll pass by a large number of them on the Berge & Seen E-Trail.
The new e-bike route covers 630 kilometers and 14,500 meters of altitude. In addition, there are several crystal-clear lakes, wide fields, meadows adorned with flowers or rugged rock faces. There are ten stages in total, the official start is in the town of Mondsee am Mondsee. However, you can also cycle the sections individually. Depending on the stage, the trail can be combined with a refreshing stop at one of the lakes such as Almsee, Altausseer See or Grundlsee, or with a stop at one of the snack stations on the mountains such as Dachsteinblick or Hatzenalm. Other highlights along the route include the Kulmspitz observation tower or the Salzwelten salt flats. A boat trip on one of the lakes is also worthwhile, as is an adrenaline kick on the Feuerkogel downhill course.
The location of the AlpenPark Hagan Lodge is ideal for e-bikers on the Berge & Seen E-Trail. In Altaussee, just a few kilometers from the active resort, begins the seventh stage, which takes you on just under 50 kilometers to Bad Ischl. Highlights of this tour are the Blaa Alm, the unique landscape along the Rettenbach, the Ewige Wand, wonderful views to the Dachstein, Lake Hallstatt and Lake Wolfgang as well as the cultural capital Bad Ischl itself. A visit to the salt mine rounds off the excursion.
Easy to reach from AlpenParks Hagan Lodge is also Bad Aussee, the starting point of the sixth stage. This one scores with a fantastic panoramic view to the Loser, Sandling and the glacier of the Dachstein. In addition, you will almost completely circumnavigate Lake Ödensee and pass by Lake Salzastausee and Lake Grundlsee during the nearly 70 kilometers.
To ensure that you never run out of electricity for your adventures, there are plenty of charging stations along the route. The AlpenParks Hagan Lodge cottage village also has one and also offers guests mountain bike and e-bike rentals. So nothing stands in the way of your next tour through the Salzkammergut. Secure your cozy lodge and go hunting for new favorite places with the e-bike!
