Ski touring educational trail in Mühlbach

In Mühlbach, not far from the AlpenParks apartments, a ski touring trail has been created for beginners and those wanting to brush up their skills. The signposted DYNAFIT ski touring educational trail leads you through the giant outdoor playground that is the Hochkönig region – fantastic views included. And after about an hour's ascent, you will be rewarded with breathtaking scenic views of Hochkeil. At the same time, you will find out about the appropriate ascent technique and how to behave in high-alpine terrain. What you won’t encounter here: oncoming traffic in the form of skiers or snow-grooming vehicles as well as high-alpine emergency situations. Instead, you can exercise in calm and quiet surroundings during your ski tour in Mühlbach and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the region. Advanced skiers can even give nighttime ski touring a try – in moonshine and under starlit skies.

From ascent routes to twilight tours

Once you have kindled your inner ski touring fire, the Scheppal Alm ascent route will be waiting for you. It starts in Mühlbach and ends at the Kings Cab mountain station at 1,750 meters above sea level. You’ll master 750 meters of elevation gain and almost six kilometres of distance on a groomed and signposted trail.

Mystical, white snow underneath your skis and twinkling stars above you: Night owls will love the region’s twilight tours. On some days of the week, select ski huts keep their doors open until 20:30 or even 22:00. For this purpose, the respective ski runs are exempt from early slope closure on these days.

In Mühlbach am Hochkönig, guided ski tours through the mountains are offered every week. What’s more, you can also book individual tours geared to your needs and led by state-certified mountain and ski guides.
