Important notes for winter hiking

Winter hiking is a relaxing and very safe alternative to other winter sports. However, there are several notes to follow that are important for your safety and proper co-existence with other winter athletes:

  • Caution on winter hiking trails – you could encounter skiers or toboggan runners at any time. Special caution is required when crossing slopes (ski slopes, cross-country ski runs).
  • Please pay attention to the signposting of the winter hiking trails. Due to the partially deep snow layers the signposts of the summer hiking trails are invalid in winter.
  • The marked winter hiking trails are cleared regularly. Special caution is necessary after fresh snowfalls as the paths might not yet have been cleared and gritted.
