Snowshoeing for beginners and advanced hikers
Fascinating routes and stunning panoramas await you in the Saalbach region. The tour on the Reiterkogel, for example, is specifically suited for beginners and those with limited snowshoe experience. Hike through snow-covered mountain scenery and enjoy sunshine and clear high-altitude air on a length of 3.7 km with only 150 altitude metres of ascent.
A second, more challenging tour leads you on 4.5 km from the horse sleigh stand Lindlingalm across alpine meadows and partially through forests to the Lindlingalm. Here, treat yourself to some refreshment before eventually touring back to where you started.
Guided snowshoeing in Saalbach
Those who’d like to rely on the experience of a certified mountain hiking guide shouldn’t miss out on the guided snowshoe hike with mountain hiking guide Anne Lappi. This approx. four-hour-long loop tour starts every Wednesday at 10 am at the train reversal spot in Lengau (valley end). It leads you to the most beautiful spots around Saalbach and Hinterglemm. Registration requirement: sign for the guided snowshoe hike at least one day before it takes place.
Snowshoeing – more than just a trend
Snowshoes may have been fairly unknown until a few years ago, yet they are very popular with many people today. They allow occasional athletes and less active people to deeply immerse themselves in the stunning winter scenery with little effort and expenditure of energy.
Active athletes enjoy snowshoeing as relaxing balance to challenging skiing or cross-country ski sport. Be it as it may, snowshoeing puts the emphasis on beautiful moments in nature and beyond the hustle and bustle of the ski slopes.
