More than 600 kilometres of designated mountain biking and cycling routes plus countless single trail options will make bikers’ hearts skip a beat in East Tyrol. Both beginners and more experienced riders truly get their money’s worth. Explore great mountain bike tours along the rivers Isel or Drau directly from AlpenParks Montana Matrei, and optionally ride steeply uphill or downhill through the incomparable scenery between Grossvenediger and the Dolomites.
Two special tips for your mountain bike holiday
The first stage of the Drau cycle path connects East Tyrol with South Tyrol, Lienz with Innichen, and the Grossglockner with the Tre Cime. Beyond roads but on a continuously asphalted route, pleasure bikers have many beautiful options to stop and enjoy the nature along the way. The path slopes downwards from Innichen to Lienz, and is thus also well-suited for families with children. Start either in Toblach/Innichen or Lienz – depending on which direction you’d like to ride.

Special: arrival and return journey by train possible
Through the forest on narrow paths, turn by turn, over roots and rocks, past branches and bushes – the bike parks of Grossglockner Resort and Lienz guarantee pure riding fun for all mountain bike adrenaline junkies on holiday – beginners and pros. The newly created Flow Family Trail at Bikepark Lienz is the ideal gateway to this action-packed type of mountain biking. The Gornerwald Trail at Bikepark Grossglockner Resort, on the other hand, is for absolute pros only. And the Trial Bike Park Ainet focuses on one special trend sport: overcome natural or artificially created obstacles on a trial bike. This trains, among other things, body control, balance, concentration and power. Warning, can become addictive!
