DESTINATIONS & SIGHTS IN EAST TYROL

One of the most snow-reliable and family-friendly regions in Austria in winter, and a fantastic hiking region around Austria’s tallest mountain, the Grossglockner, in summer. The Adlerlounge gives you a very special view. It acts as a large, modern ski hut in winter and turns into a notable viewing platform in summer. Here you are on eye level with the imposing Grossglockner.

One of the most impressive sights of the region opens up to tourists in the Gschlössltal Valley directly on the foot of the Großvenediger: the indescribable view of the imposing Hohe Tauern glacier landscape. The Umbalfälle invite you to take a unique exploration on the first water studies path in Europe. Here you can experience the power a small glacial stream has on the landscape around it. Fully smoothed greenstone, eroded hollow moulds and roaring waterfalls create a unique natural spectacle worth seeing. The Umbalfälle give an insight into the entire beauty of the Hohe Tauern National Park and can be reached from Ströden parking ground.
