Perfectly signposted hiking routes of all difficulties lead to the region’s most beautiful summits, while the Schmittenhöhebahn cable car comfortably transports walkers to an altitude of 2,000 m. Hikers and mountain climbers can be enchanted by the perfectly signposted trails over lush green pastures and challenging climbs in all levels of difficulty. Rustic alpine huts reward all mountaineers with tasty regional delicacies. The grand view of the glistening Lake Zell and the snow-covered Hohe Tauern summits provide the breathtaking backdrop for every tour.
Free riders will find the perfect terrain for action-packed downhills on the new Kitzsteinhorn runs. Connoisseurs will explore the Pinzgau on cozy cycling paths in the valley. The Golfclub Zell am See-Kaprun with two 18-hole championship courts provides the perfect mix of picturesque scenery and perfectly maintained facilities.
Events and activities
Numerous festivities and weekly events provide musical and cultural variety. The nightly "Magic Lake Show", a music, light and laser show on the shore of Lake Zell which takes place three times a week, is the highlight of the summer without a shred of doubt.
Insider tips:
Seasonal and regional delicacies are offered every Friday at the weekly market on the town square. In the Augut farm shop of the Pichler family, you can find the finest self-produced honey, freshly baked farmer's bread, tasty cheese and bacon, schnapps, liqueurs, and an astonishing 39 different self-made marmalade varieties from local fruits and berries.

In Taxenbach, at the entrance to the Rauriser valley, you start your hike through the mystical Kitzlochklamm, that was formed by the Rauriser river. Stalactite caves, hermitage.
