The new 1300 m² emerald lake and the 370 m² "small" crystal lake are located in the midst of the impressive mountain world. Every day around 150 m³ of fresh thermal water bubble into the two beautiful lakes. The special thing about it is that they are cleaned without the addition of chemical substances such as chlorine. Always worth a visit!
Even the common-or-garden drinking water has Gastein in it – so don’t be surprised if you are also offered ordinary tap water in a restaurant as an alternative to mineral water – it simply tastes delicious. For those of you who prefer sparkling water, reach for the local product - Gastein mineral water, which is very well-known and popular. Cool bathing lakes offer welcome refreshment during or after a good long hike in the Gastein mountains. Though the clear, cold mountain water is not necessarily suitable for longer bathing - the outdoor pools and the solar pool in Dorfgastein are better for that.
