55 kilometres north-east from AlpenParks Hotel & Apartment Maria Alm you can embark on a journey back to the Ice Age: 20,000 square metres of ice located 1,641 metres above sea level. The World of Ice Giants in Werfen is the largest ice cave in the world. The entrance to the ice caves can be reached via bus, cable car or a small walk. And after the ice caves, do visit the Castle Hohenwerfen. The impressive castle has plenty on offer: the main attraction is the birds of prey museum and the daily birds of prey flight show.
Anyone who wants to experience the might of water in its most original form should visit the Krimml Waterfalls in Austria. The water falls down for 380 metres – a fascinating view indeed.
