3 reservoirs Hike on the Schmittenhöhe

The hike starts in front of the church in Schüttdorf. After crossing the main road, turn left and walk about 100 meters until you reach the après-ski bar "Dorfschenke". Here you take a sharp right turn and continue along the road in the direction of "Entwies Bauer".

Once you arrive at "Entwiesbauer", follow the forest road behind the house uphill. After a hiking time of around 30-40 minutes, you will reach the impressive "Plettsaukopf", the largest reservoir on the Schmittenhöhe Zell am See. The route continues in the direction of the cityXpress mountain station. You pass the cityXpress cable car and continue along the road. After another 40-50 minutes you reach the second reservoir, the "Brunnermais", which is also known as the "Lake of Art". The hiking trail then leads past the idyllic Alpengasthaus Glocknerblick and finally enters the dense forest. Within a short time, you reach the third reservoir on the Hirschkogel, from where you have a breathtaking view of the Kitzsteinhorn.

For the crowning finale, the trail continues towards Breiteckalm and finally to the mountain station of the trassXpress. If you wish, you can now take the trassXpress cable car back in comfort (the ride is free with the Zell am See-Kaprun Sommercard).
