Snowshoe hike in Piesendorf in the direction of Zirmkogel

The starting point of the hike is the Röderlehen parking lot in Walchen (above the Naglbauer snack station). There are several free parking spaces here. From the parking lot, hike left up the forest road until the hiking trail branches off to the right into the forest after a few minutes' walk. The hiking trail soon becomes very steep until you reach the "Röderlehentörl" at 1,520m. From here, the trail becomes somewhat flatter again and you continue to the "Hochgitscheck". A small bench with a table invites you to take a short breather here.

The trail then takes a right turn into the high forest, past a fence culvert and across wide meadows further and further up. You soon reach the junction between the Zirmkogel turn-off and the right-hand side towards the Pinzgauer Spazierweg. Depending on your preference, you can continue to the right to the Gernkogel summit or to the left to the Zirmkogel summit at 2,215m.
