The rules for ski touring in the Hochkönig region
To ensure that your ski touring experience remains safe and sustainable, please observe the regional regulations:
- Prohibitions must be observed and alternative ascent routes must be used
- Follow the instructions of the cable car staff
- Observe the opening hours of ascent routes and ski slopes
- For safety reasons, the slopes are completely closed at night
- Dogs are not allowed on the ski slopes
Our recommendation: Scheppal Alm – Kings Cab ascent route
The trail from Scheppalalm to the Kings Cab mountain station is just under 6 km long and follows a signposted route to a magnificent viewpoint. It runs through the middle of the ski area, but away from the ski slopes, through quiet wooded areas and below the Kings Cab cable car route to the summit.
Important information:
- Ticket required: Day ticket €18.00 (ticket machine or ticket office)
- Opening hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m., prohibited outside these times
- Dogs are prohibited
- During ski races, only open as far as the Zapferl Alm
- Do not leave the designated route
Ascent route Dientner Sattel – Kings Cab
From the Dientner Sattel, another groomed trail leads just under 3 km to the Kings Cab mountain station. The route runs along forest roads through quiet wooded areas and ends below the lift track.
Important information:
- Free to use, no ticket required
- Follow the route guidelines, do not ride on reforestation areas
- Observe opening hours and slope closures
- Dogs are not allowed
