Gastein Card in the Summer

Summer in the Gastein Valley combines alpine activities with a truly healing climate. With the Gastein Card, you can enjoy a wide range of free and discounted services in the areas of mountain railways, sports, wellness, and culture.
- Mountain Railways On all four summer mountain railways—the Stubnerkogelbahn in Bad Gastein, the Schlossalmbahn in Bad Hofgastein, the Graukogelbahn in Bad Gastein, and the Gipfelbahn Fulseck in Dorfgastein—you receive discounted one-way and round-trip tickets with the Gastein Card. Even evening rides and the popular hiking shuttle days, which connect two adventure mountains in a single day, are discounted.
- Sports & Activity Program The tourism associations’ free hiking program offers daily guided half-day and full-day hikes through the mountain world of the Hohe Tauern National Park. In addition, guided e-mountain bike tours, outdoor yoga sessions, herb walks, tennis, introductory golf courses, archery, and the spectacular Flying Waters experience over the Gastein Waterfall are available at a discount. E-bike and mountain bike rentals are also cheaper with the Gastein Card.
- Thermal Baths, Healing Climate & Wellness The Gastein Valley is one of Europe’s leading health resort regions. With the Gastein Card, you receive discounts at all thermal facilities: Felsentherme Bad Gastein and Solarbad Dorfgastein. Also discounted: the Radon Thermal Taster Bath, the Gastein Mist Bath, and the introductory visit to the Gastein Healing Tunnel.

Gastein Card in winter
Valid: 2026/27 winter season (expected to run from December 2026 to the end of March 2027)
The Gastein Valley is one of the most historic winter sports regions in the Alps—with over 200 kilometers of slopes, an extensive network of cross-country trails, and a program that goes far beyond skiing. The Gastein Card makes winter vacations richer and more affordable for skiers and non-skiers alike.
- Ski buses & public transit Ski buses are free for guests with a valid ski pass from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Guest Mobility Ticket for all public transportation in the Salzburg region is valid throughout your entire stay, as well as for your arrival and departure.
- Mountain Railways for Non-Skiers Those who wish to enjoy the winter mountain world without skis can take advantage of discounted pedestrian tickets on all Gastein mountain railways: Goldbergbahn Sportgastein, Stubnerkogelbahn Bad Gastein, Graukogelbahn Bad Gastein, Senderbahn Angertal, Schlossalmbahn Bad Hofgastein, and Gipfelbahn Fulseck Dorfgastein.
- Ski touring, snowshoeing, and Nordic skiing – free and at a discount The guided ski safari through the Gastein Valley is free with the Gastein Card – a daily highlight for ski enthusiasts. Also free: use of all cross-country trails in the valley (except Sportgastein) as well as regular guided winter hikes. Discounts are available for guided ski tours, snowshoe hikes, full-moon snowshoe tours, cross-country skiing introductory courses, biathlon intro sessions, freeride camps, snowbike workshops, and telemark courses.
- Ice Skating – Free Ice skating is free in all three towns of the Gastein Valley with the Gastein Card throughout the winter season—a popular activity for families and groups.
- Thermal Baths & Healing Climate The same discounts as in summer also apply in winter: Alpentherme, Felsentherme, Solarbad-Sauna, Radon Introductory Bath, Gasteiner Dunstbad, and Heilstollen. Particularly popular: the Felsentherme Bad Gastein, directly connected to the Stubnerkogel lift via a skywalk—from the slopes to the warmth in just a few steps.
- Winter Activities & Leisure Program The Gastein Card offers discounts on activities such as horse-drawn sleigh rides, alpaca trekking, Flying Waters, tandem paragliding flights, curling, Yoga on Snow, winter forest bathing, torchlight hikes, bowling, and schnapps tastings. Ski service shops in the valley also offer discounted services with the card.

What is the difference between the Gastein Card, the Almorama Card, and the Berge & Thermen Card?
The Gastein Card is a free guest card that is automatically included with your accommodation. It offers discounts and complimentary services at numerous partner locations. The Almorama Card and the Mountains & Spas Card are multi-day passes available for a fee, specifically for the mountain railways and spas—they allow for even more extensive use of the mountain railways over several days and are available as a supplement to the Gastein Card. With the Gastein Card, you receive additional discounts on both multi-day passes.
