Canyoning: the adventure for the brave

Canyoning, travelling through a canyon from top to bottom, creates an adrenaline rush of superlatives. You need to climb, jump, slide, swim and sometimes even dive to conquer the bizarre rock walls, most of which are pervaded by roaring waterfalls.

Various tours await adventurous outdoor athletes in East Tyrol. The beginner routes can basically be managed without any previous knowledge, though physical fitness and surefootedness are required. For more demanding tours, however, you will need canyoning experience. The equipment with rope and carabiner can be rented.

Rafting: amour fou with the rugged river Isel

The river Isel in East Tyrol has the reputation of being one of the best rafting routes in Central Europe. It should come as no surprise that it’s pretty busy here in summer. Immerse yourself in this high-speed adventure safely equipped with wetsuit, life jacket and helmet – surprises and highlights included!

Our rafting tip:

Experience a varied ride with a speedy current and high waves during a white water trip for beginners from Adventurepark East Tyrol to Lienz. The quieter parts of the river offer enough time for a short rest. You should absolutely dare to jump into the cool water as white water swimming raises the fun level even more. Rafting on the beginner route is suitable from age 6.

Length: 10 kilometres
Duration: approx. 2 hours
Peculiarities: equipment, guide and photo service included

Conquering East Tyrol´s roaring rivers by kayak

East Tyrol is certainly no longer an insiders’ tip among kayak and canoe athletes. The glacier-fed rivers have sufficient water even in the dry summer months and the various difficulty levels create the best conditions for both beginners and pros. Beginners can have the required skills taught in the one of the many kayak schools and can soon dare to venture on a romantic river hike. More experienced athletes have several tours with particularly spectacular stages at their disposal.
