New & ready to explore: the Iseltrail
The “Iseltrail” long-distance hiking path opened in July 2020. It starts in the Dolomites town of Lienz and stretches along the Isel, the last continuous, unspoilt glacial river in Europe, on a total length of 74 kilometres and 2,160 altitude metres.
Picturesque natural sites await you during this tour such as the Grosse Iselschlucht (“Large Isel Canyon”) near Bobojach, the “Virgener Wildnis” or the Glo canyon. The uniqueness of this project, placing great emphasis on retaining the natural course of the river, yielded the Iseltrail the status of a Natura 2000 region. Experience the Iseltrail true to its motto: “Follow your flow.”
