Each gorge is a special and unique place in its own right – created several millennia ago by natural forces such as melting glaciers. No wonder they’re a popular attraction nowadays. If you would like to visit a gorge near the AlpenParks apartments in Mühlbach am Hochkönig, you can choose from three stunning destinations: the Kitzloch Gorge in Taxenbach at the entrance to the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Liechtenstein Gorge in St. Johann, known for being one of the deepest whitewater gorges in the Alps, and the 320-metre-long Sigmund-Thun Gorge in Kaprun.
You don't have to travel to a distant continent to marvel at impressive waterfalls. Along the Gerlos Alpine Road, about 1.5 hours by car from Mühlbach, you will find Europe’s tallest waterfalls (and the fifth tallest in the world). The thundering waterfalls can be reached via a hiking trail and are a popular attraction for nature lovers of all ages.
In the Salzburger Land region, anyone seeking relaxation will quickly find what they are looking for. Several thermal spas within a radius of about an hour's drive are awaiting your visit: Erlebnis-Therme Amadé in Altenmarkt, Tauern Spa in Zell am See/Kaprun, Alpentherme Gastein or Felsentherme Bad Gastein.
