Action & relaxation for kids & adults

Activities for the whole family

The Hochkönig region has a lot to offer when it comes to family holidays – at any time of the year. There are a variety of excursion destinations to discover and activities to try out, so your children will never get bored. Here’s our top five for hot and cold days:

Summer

  • Alpine coaster on Biberg: Across a distance of 1.6 kilometres, you can swoosh down this summer toboggan run on Biberg at top speeds.

  • Mountain Village of Animals in Mühlbach am Hochkönig: 30 animal attractions hold several interesting, funny, and sweet surprises in store: a petting zoo, a dog obstacle course, a marmot trail, cow milking, and much more.

  • Prince Mountain Natrun: In Maria Alm, the whole family will get their money's worth – whether it's while playing minigolf or shooting with bow and arrows, on the children's forest high-ropes course, or at the Forest Slide Park.

  • Toni's Alpine Meadow Playground in Mühlbach: The Karbachalm cable car (free of charge with the Hochkönig Card) takes you to Toni's World on Karbachalm. That’s where you will find an alpine playground, a mountain cart, a walking trail with an adventure station, and a designated barbecue area.

  • Herb hiking: On various herb hikes, your little ones can learn all kinds of interesting facts about the region's herbs from experienced herb experts (tastings included).

Winter

  • Schneewutzel’s Kids Club: The Amadé family ski resort offers diverse activities for families. The Schneewutzel Kids Club with its ski schools, ski rental facilities, ski races, shows, and children's parties ensures that your little ones become pro racers in no time at all.

  • Guest Kindergarten Maria Alm: Kids should be in good hands while their parents live it up on the ski slopes. That’s why a guest kindergarten was created for children from the age of two, where they can feel right at home. And you can enjoy a carefree ski day …

  • Haus der Natur in Salzburg: Especially in winter or in case of bad weather, an excursion to the nearby “City of Mozart” is a fantastic idea. At Haus der Natur, children can learn lots of interesting facts about animals and plants and also about the human body.

  • Therme Amadé: With 11 pools, 3 slides, 5 saunas and a separate children's area, Therme Amadé is a perfect destination on cold and wet winter days.

  • Easter egg hunt on the ski slopes: On Hochkönig, the Easter bunny puts on his skis and hides sweet treats and surprises right on the slopes on the Easter weekend.

Indoor & outdoor play areas

At the AlpenParks apartment building, your little ones can romp around at the indoor playroom: slides, handicrafts, and climbing only a few of the highlights – and especially fun on bad-weather days. And in good weather? The youngsters can have a wonderful time on probably the most beautiful and action-packed outdoor playground: the Hochkönig region with its impressive mountain world and pristine nature. Awaken the spirit of discovery in you and your children and get to know Mühlbach and the Salzburger Land region!
