Trail running on the Arlberg across country
A selection of the most beautiful trail running routes in Arlberg
Offroad running options around the resort
On the trail, get set, go! Running has experienced a real metamorphosis over the past years, particularly in more hilly and mountainous areas. Trail running has long since escaped its status as a niche phenomenon and become widely popular. Running in nature, across country, more often than not through mountainous areas, attracts more and more people. Trail running on the Arlberg promises lots of variety for aspiring mountain runners and those looking to get there – all of that in close proximity to your apartment.
Diversity of nature
The best trails in the region
Look forward to a wide selection of running options around AlpenParks Hotel & Apartment Arlberg. Numerous trails run through the heart of the Arlberg region. Here are our three favourites in Warth:
- Warth – Schröcken: Endurance trail runners head for the neighbouring village during this tour of about 4.5 hours. 18.6 km through pristine nature with the narrow Höferspitze as a minor challenge at the end.
- Village tour Warth – Hochkrumbach: This one-hour tour with glorious views is short, distinct, yet rather challenging. You’ll find many surprisingly steep parts across these 7.6 km.
- Lechweg Warth – Lech: The Lechweg isn’t just reserved for hikers and is great for running. One stage between Lech and Warth tackles the former Walser people settlement of Bürstegg .
Trail running events on the Arlberg
The diverse selection of trails extends to many other areas of the Arlberg region as well, and there are also top events of national and international renown waiting for all guests. From beginner-friendly runs to genuine pro challenges to merely observing and cheering on, these events are a must:
- Der Weisse Ring: This legendary ski tour turns into a trail challenge in summer. The counter-clockwise route makes some of the most popular ski slopes runner-friendly.
- Dynafit Transalpine Run: A seven-day stage run for soloists or two-person teams poses tremendous challenges even to established pros. Competitive athletes conquer the Alps on two legs.
- Weekly trail running taster course: The trail running taster course with Andreas Tomann does not require any previous knowledge or top fitness, as it is not about speed, but about experiencing nature and the fun of varied running.
