Hiking in pristine nature

What’s today’s destination? You’ll find a wide selection of paths and tours around AlpenParks Hotel & Apartment Arlberg. The summer cable cars, such as the 4-seat chairlift in Warth-Arlberg, support your ascent and take you straight to hiking bliss. These tours are very much worth experiencing.

  • Village paths: Short, beginner-friendly round tours lead through Warth (4.4 km) and Schröcken (3.6 km) to the most beautiful places of both villages, while giving you a closer introduction to the hiking region.
  • Geiersberg Round Tour: About 400 metres of altitude along the Oberboden and Unterboden plots and the Bregenzerache for a leisurely 7.5 kilometre hike.
  • Karhorn: Several short, pretty intense ascents make this 12.1 km hike quite tricky. The devil’s in the details, but the views are awe-inspiring.
  • 3 Pass Tour: This medium-difficulty five-hour tour leads to the mountain passes Koblatpass, Gemstelpass and Hochalppass. Surefootedness is required.
  • Wannenkopf Round Tour: ‘Only’ 5.3 km but almost constant ascending and a tricky descent make this two-hour hike into an unexpected challenge.
  • Widderstein: Conquer more than 1,100 metres of altitude around the Widderstein in about six hours. Several high-alpine ascents should generally only be undertaken by hiking pros.
  • Butzenseerundweg: Narrow paths, trickly climbs, slippery passages and increasingly sparse scenery accompany one of the region’s toughest tours. The view across the idyllic lake is worth the effort.

Other active highlights for hikers and climbers

These entertaining tours aside, hiking on the Arlberg has so much more to offer. AlpenParks guests look forward to themed hikes, via ferrata and exciting long-distance hiking tours with several stages leading through Warth-Schröcken:

  • Tannbergweg: The Walser people once settled in the Arlberg region. This themed tour explores the shared history of Warth-Schröcken and Lech across 57 stops.
  • Lechweg: A total of 1,250 kilometres connect the Arlberg, Lech Valley, Reutte and the southern Allgäu. Stages 2 and 3 end and begin in Warth respectively.
  • 7 Summits: 4,300 metres of altitude. 48 kilometres. 7 summits. One of the biggest mountain running challenges can also be experienced by endurance hikers.
  • Karhorn via ferrata: Climbers are also right at home around AlpenParks Hotel & Apartment Arlberg. A stunning climbing tour with different levels of difficulty leads from the Wartherhorn mountain saddle to the Karhorn summit at 2,416 m.
