Climbing in the alps
Regional rock climbing centres

Starting out doesn’t have to be tough. The rock climbing centres on the Arlberg are dedicated to beginner-friendly and more challenging (fixed) routes. Children and adults, beginners and pros will all feel right at home here:

  • Klettergarten Schrofenwies: 30 routes from 4b to 7c can be found in Warth-Lechleiten. Some mountain and climbing experience is necessary; beginner classes can be booked with the local mountaineering schools on request.
  • Abenteuerpark Schröcken: The family-friendly park  has its own, explicitly child-friendly high rope course. Kids and adults enjoy an introduction to rope routes and rock formations in the gorge of the Bregenzerache brook.
  • Klettergarten Bürstegger Wändle: 29 routes from 3a to 7c+ are dedicated to steep climbing in limestone. The entrance is slightly hidden in the forest, the range of routes is truly impressive.
Additional (fixed) routes at a glance

As well as the designated climbing centres, there are so many other climbing options nearby for AlpenParks guests. Join the local mountaineering schools where you can rent equipment, take introductory lessons and book guides, and you can conquer these (fixed) routes:

  • Karhorn Klettersteig: The route from the Warterhorn mountain saddle to the Karhorn summit at 2,416 m via the eastern ridge is fairly easy – ideal for the first mountain experiences with the entire family. The view from the top is magnificent.
  • Biberkopf Südwand V-: This stunning route can be conquered with the necessary mountain experience. Pay attention on the traversing route with its small perils.
  • Spullerplatten: The climbing routes in and around the climbing centre cover the difficulty levels IV to VII. Experienced alpine climbers and sport climbing pros are welcome here.
  • Roggalspitze Roggalkante IV+: This demanding climbing tour is among the most beautiful ridge climbs in the Alps. Mountain experience is mandatory, the ambiance alone is really impressive.
