A total of 200 kilometres of cross-country ski runs are available in Altaussee and the whole Salzkammergut region. Highlights include:
- Rettenbach Loipe: This exceedingly sporty, moderately difficult route takes about an hour to cover the almost four kilometres from the Rettenbachalm to the Blaa Alm. The ascent through the forest is a challenge.
- Loser Skiarena: Another trail to Blaa Alm leads over Wiesen and Klauseck to the Rettenbachalm in just under an hour, with several short, intense ascents and descents.
- Sonnenloipen: Two easy runs can be explored in Bad Aussee: a short version in 20 minutes and a longer one in an hour. The gentle incline and scenic beauty convey real Nordic bliss.
- Rundloipe: Another trail that heads to the Rettenbachalm and Blaa Alm starts in Altaussee and passes right by our two holiday lodges – 15.5 km of pure cross-country skiing in the Ausseerland.
- Sport Loipe: True pros can take on these five kilometres in an hour and a half. Multiple loops and sudden changes in terrain present real challenges on the FIS-approved race run.
