Mountain bike event in the Salzkammergut: sports & relax afterwards in the hut village
There are different routes and levels of difficulty to choose from, ranging from 22.1 kilometers (595 meters in altitude) to 210 kilometers (7,000 meters in altitude), sweat-inducing climbs and a breathtaking panorama - that's the Salzkammergut Mountain Bike Trophy.
When the event took place for the first time in 1998, it was not foreseeable that it would one day become the biggest mountain bike marathon in Austria. Today, more than 20 years later, every year in July thousands of athletes from several different nations conquer the extreme course and fight for good places in the toughest one-day mountain bike race. There are now seven different competition distances to choose from. They have one thing in common: the athletes not only push their limits, but also roam through the unique UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt-Dachstein-Salzkammergut. Whether it's unique views of the Dachstein with its glaciers, the Ewige Wand, Lake Gosausee, Lake Hallstatt or the Waldbachstrub waterfall - the cycling event has plenty of highlights to offer.
