Schneeschuhwandern in den Bergen von Saalbach
Off-piste snowshoeing in the
Romantic silence in the winter landscape
On quiet paths through the winter scenery
The thick, seemingly impenetrable layer of snow covers Salzburg in winter. Skiers love it, but it lends itself to many more spectacular activities beyond the slopes. Have you ever gone snowshoeing in the Salzburg region?
The winter wonderland of Saalbach Hinterglemm emanates an almost magical aura. Accompanied by glistening mountain tops, deep-blue skies, and crisp snow under your boots, your hiking dreams will come true with gorgeous views.
Wonderful tours for every taste
The special thing about snowshoeing is the manner in which you get to explore paths and places that would’ve otherwise been hidden. There are plenty of attractive routes at and around the apartments of AlpenParks Steve Lodge. How about:
- Reiterkogel: The perfect way to get your snowshoeing holiday in Austria started! Beginners feel right at home with this two-hour hike across snow-covered mountains. 3.7 km with a mere 150 altitude metres of ascent invite you to enjoy the sunshine and the view.
- Lindlingalm: Once you’ve found your way into snowshoeing, the 4.5 km from the horse-drawn sleigh stand to the Lindlingalm are more than manageable. Unearth the wintery, mythical side of the Home of Lässig while hiking across alpine meadows and through forests.
- Plettsaukopf: Zell am See is all about snowshoeing, too. This round tour has everything you need to unwind. 2.2 slow and steady kilometres without any real ascent promise an easy-going affair.
Guided snowshoe hikes
Once you’ve found your footing in the snowshoeing region and the varied hiking options, we recommend a guided snowshoe hike. A certified mountain guide will lead you through the valley end every Wednesday at 10 am. Learn more about the high art of snowshoeing and discover the best spots of Saalbach and Hinterglemm during four thrilling hours. Please sign up with the local tourism association the day before at the latest.
Snowshoeing in the Salzburg region provides a much needed change of pace, allowing you to become one with nature. These and many other exciting activities on and beyond the slopes await you during your next winter holiday with AlpenParks Steve Lodge Viehhofen. We are looking forward to seeing you!
