Hike to the Hainfeldscharte in Leogang
The starting point of the hike is the Mitterbrand hiking parking lot in Leogang (fee required). From here, the trail starts next to the parking lot and immediately branches off into the forest. After a few minutes, you come to the forest path until you reach another crossroads with hiking signs. Now follow the signs in the direction of "Lettlkaser". The path climbs gently through the forest, over alpine meadows and soon you can see the small Lettlkaser alpine hut from afar.
If you want to climb up to the Hainfeldscharte, you should turn left just below the Lettlkaser hut at the small barn. After a few meters, you will come to a fairly steep hiking trail. This leads in serpentines to the Plattenkopf at 1,661m and on to the Hainfeldscharte. Shortly before the saddle, the path crosses the ridge and becomes narrower, steeper and slightly exposed. Here you should be sure-footed and have a head for heights. Once you reach the top, you have a magnificent view of the imposing mountain world of the Leoganger Steinberge and the Saalfelden basin. The Hainfeldscharte lies at 1,948m.
Return via the same route.
