Hike to Manlitzkogel in Hinterglemm

24.09.2025

The varied hike to the Manlitzkogel in Saalbach Hinterglemm starts comfortably with the ascent to the 12er KOGEL. A real advantage: with the JOKER CARD, the mountain railway ride is free for guests of the AlpenParks Hotel & Apartment Sonnleiten.

From the mountain station, you first hike a short distance downhill and pass the mountain station of the 10-seater chairlift (only in operation in winter). From here, you have two options: either enjoy the view along the Panorama Trail or choose the steeper ascent up to the Hohe Penhab. The trail continues across alpine meadows and past the idyllically situated Seekar Lake until you reach the Stoffenscharte at around 2,000 meters. From here, it gets sporty again: about 250 meters of elevation gain separate you from the summit.

Once you reach the Manlitzkogel (2,247 m), you will be rewarded with a magnificent 360-degree panorama of the surrounding mountains.

The return route first leads back to the Stoffenscharte. From there, you continue hiking via the Ellmaualm, which is open to the public, down to the middle station of the 12er-KOGEL-Bahn in Hinterglemm.
