Hike to the Kals-Matreier-Törl house in East Tyrol
The hike starts at the Happeck parking lot on Klaunzer Berg in Matrei in East Tyrol. There are numerous free parking options here. First, the trail leads down the forest road for a short distance until you are just above the lift hut. From here, the forest path branches off to the right into the forest, which you follow.
After a while, you cross the Goldriedbach stream and continue along the forest road. Eventually you reach a memorial plaque with prayer flags and a bench, where the path branches off to the right. This path leads you up to the serviced hut of the Kals-Matreier-Törl-Haus at 2,207 meters above sea level.
Motivated hikers have the opportunity to climb another 200 meters up to the Kalser Höhe. From the Kalser Höhe, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama - the additional ascent is definitely worth it!
