Hike from Hintersee lake in Mittersill to Plattachsee lake

From the parking lot at Hintersee, we set off in the direction of St. Pötner Hütte. We have chosen the more challenging route via the Trassensteig trail. Past the Gamsblickhütte and further into the head of the valley towards the waterfall. The path then becomes steeper and always follows the signs for the "St. Pötner" hut (there are a few places here with wire ropes and a ladder - therefore marked as a black hiking trail!) The path is also well marked.

After approx. 2 hours you come to a "crossroads" where you can go left down again to Hintersee, or right on to Plattachsee. From here it is another 15-20 minutes to the beautiful mountain lake. The way back is via the serpentine Trudental valley.
