02.09.2023

The hike begins at the Kesselfall parking garage in Kaprun, a spacious parking lot with free parking spaces. The adventure starts from here, initially with shuttle buses and an impressive inclined elevator that transports hikers up to an altitude of 2,036 meters to the high mountain reservoirs.
(Tip: With the Zell am See-Kaprun Sommercard, the ascent to the high mountain reservoirs is free!)

The actual hike towards the small Grieskogel begins at the upper reservoir, the Moserboden. The path is well marked and winds its way through the breathtaking landscape around the high mountain reservoirs of Kaprun. After walking for around 1 to 1.5 hours, you finally reach your destination: the Kleiner Grieskogel. A small cross is enthroned here, offering hikers a special place to linger.

Even at this point, an impressive mountain and glacier panorama opens up. From here, you can enjoy a view of the imposing Kitzsteinhorn, the Große Wiesbachhorn, the Bratschenkopf, the Klocknerin and the Hohe Dock.

The way back follows the same route, giving you another opportunity to admire the beauty of the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs.
