Autumn hike to the Hochalmspitze in Hinterglemm

The starting point of the hike is the Reiterkogelbahn mountain station. Tip: The ascent with the Reiterkogelbahn in Hinterglemm is free in summer with the JOKER CARD. As a guest at AlpenParks Hotel & Apartment Sonnleiten, you receive the JOKER Card free of charge at reception.

Starting from the mountain station, we walk past the Wieseralm on the left and follow the forest road towards the Rosswaldhütte. Once you reach the Rosswaldhütte, you have the option of continuing left along the forest road or right towards the chapel. We opt for the forest road and continue towards Reichkendl. After a few minutes, we reach another hiking sign, where the path branches off and leads over alpine pastures or up the slope to the mountain station of the Hochalm 6-seater cable car. Here you will also find the Reichkendlkopf summit cross with a comfortable bench. Then continue in the direction of Hochalmspitze at 1,921m.

You can now return via the Rosswald forest. You hike down over steeper alpine terrain until you finally reach the Rosswaldhütte again. From here you return to the Reiterkogelbahn mountain station.
