Hike along the waterfall trail in Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße

We drive in the direction of Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße as far as the Ferleiten Wildlife and Adventure Park. There are plenty of free parking spaces on the right-hand side. We immediately turn right towards the Tauernhaus. The adventure waterfall trail then starts immediately to the right of the Tauernhaus.

It climbs quite steeply in serpentines up an alpine path. At a fork, you then have the option of turning right towards Walcher Grundalm 1,580 m (farmed) or following the forest path to the left. We decide to take the left-hand route. After a good 1 hour 15 minutes we reach the waterfall. It really is a great experience to walk right behind the waterfall. There are also wooden benches to rest on.

The hiking trail then continues to the right towards Walcher Hochalm 1,853 m. The alp itself is not managed, but there is a cozy bench with a table and parasol to the left of the alp for a snack. To the right is a tub with chilled drinks for refreshment (for a fee at the ticket office, of course).

After a short break to catch your breath, head left along the forest path back to the Ferleiten parking lot.

A really beautiful hike, albeit very steep in parts.

Sure-footedness and good footwear required, especially at the waterfall!
