“Gipfelwelt 3000” - Salzburg's highest excursion destination

Gipfelwelt 3000 on the Kitzsteinhorn is a unique experience for nature lovers and mountain enthusiasts. A breathtaking panorama awaits you at an altitude of over 3,000 meters. To reach this special place, you have two options:

• Option 1: Kaprun valley head (Kesselfallstraße 60)
  From here, the Gletscherjet 1 or the Panoramabahn will take you to Langwied station. Then take another cable car to the top - the TOP OF SALZBURG.
   
• Option 2: Kaprun town center (Kitzsteinhornplatz 1a)
  From the Kaprun Center, take the MK Maiskogelbahn to the top station and then change to the 3K K-onnection - one of the most modern and energy-efficient cable cars in the world. Enjoy the spectacular panorama over the Zell basin during the ride. From Langwied, continue with the other cable cars to the TOP OF SALZBURG.

Please note: The 3K K-onnection is not open all year round - it's best to find out in advance! With the Zell am See-Kaprun Sommercard, travel on the Gletscherjet 1 and the Panoramabahn is free of charge. For the 3K K-onnection you receive a discount on the cable car ticket. The journey to the Gipfelwelt takes around 50-60 minutes with option 1 and around 60-70 minutes with option 2. Make sure you allow enough time.

Once at the top, there are many great opportunities to discover Gipfelwelt 3000. The main attractions are:

• Panoramic platforms: The two viewing platforms “Top of Salzburg” (3,029 m) and “National Park Gallery” offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountain panorama, the Hohe Tauern and the glacier world. The view of the Grossglockner is particularly impressive.
• National Park Gallery: A fascinating tunnel leads through the mountain and offers information about the formation of the Alps, the glacier and the Hohe Tauern National Park at various stations.
• Cinema 3000: A cinema experience at an altitude of 3,000 meters, showing the impressive mountain landscape and the forces of nature in the region in high-resolution films.
• ICE ARENA: Experience the glacier up close on a summer slide in the ICE ARENA, which is located below the summit at 3,000 meters above sea level (available in July and August).

Our tip: Even in summer, it is fresh at over 3,000 meters. Pack warm clothing, remember a hat or headband, sturdy shoes and - most importantly - don't forget sunglasses and sun protection!
