Disc golf in Zell am See offers a varied summer adventure for anyone who wants to combine exercise, fun, and nature. On the Schmittenhöhe, Zell's local mountain, an exciting disc golf course with 18 baskets spread over 3.5 kilometers invites you to enjoy sporting activity with panoramic views—perfect for an active summer vacation in Zell am See-Kaprun.
 

What is disc golf?

Disc golf combines the rules of classic golf with the dynamics of Frisbee throwing. The aim is to throw a special disc into a metal basket with as few throws as possible. The game is played on a set course with varying distances – an experience for young and old alike.


How disc golf works on the Schmittenhöhe
  •  Starting point: Sonnkogelbahn mountain station
  •  Length of the course: 3.5 km with 18 stations
  •  Elevation difference: approx. 450 meters downhill
  •  Basket lengths: between 30 and 160 meters
  •  Par: 57
  •  Recommended age: approx. 10 years and older

 

Good to know: Access to the disc golf course is free with a valid mountain railway ticket. Only the disc must be rented for a deposit of €10 – directly at the Sonnkogelbahn mountain station. It can be conveniently returned at the valley station. Important: There is no ATM at the mountain station, so you should have cash ready.

 

With the Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card: Free mountain transport

Particularly convenient: Guests staying at an AlpenParks Resort with a Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card can use the mountain railways to the Schmittenhöhe free of charge. This means you can play disc golf without having to buy an additional cable car ticket. The Summer Card is included at all AlpenParks Resorts in Zell am See-Kaprun.
