Guided snowshoe hikes on the Loser

This winter, Loser is showing its quiet side: guided snowshoe hikes invite you to consciously experience the snow-covered mountains around Altaussee. Away from the ski slopes, experienced mountain guides who know the area well lead you through glittering winter landscapes – a true nature experience in the Styrian Ausseerland region.

Snowshoeing is the perfect winter activity for anyone looking for exercise, fresh mountain air, and a chance to slow down. The tours are suitable for beginners as well as athletic enthusiasts, young and old alike. Step by step, you'll make your way through snow-covered slopes, passing impressive views of the Dachstein and the Tote Gebirge mountains.
 

Guided snowshoe hikes on the Loser

Guided tours take place every Thursday and Saturday from January 3, 2026, until the end of the season. Tours start at 9 a.m. and last around four hours, including the ride up on the Panoramabahn cable car. The meeting point is directly in front of the reception at Hagan Lodge – ideal for guests staying at our hut village in the heart of the family-friendly Loser ski resort.

Certified mountain guides who know their home like the back of their hand ensure maximum safety and enjoyment. Snowshoes can be conveniently rented on site.

Good to know:

• Guided snowshoe hike including panoramic cable car ride: €39
• Snowshoe rental optional: €10
• Minimum number of participants: 4 people
• In case of bad weather: alternative winter hike (e.g., Blaa Alm)
• Registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before.
