- Skiing on the Schmittenhöhe, Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn
408 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes and 121 lifts including the glacier ski area with Ski ALPIN guarantee great skiing fun. With just one ski pass, you can experience the diverse slopes in the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and on the Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun. Numerous ski schools and ski rental shops are located right next to the AlpenParks resorts.
- Tobogganing
Tobogganing is fun for the whole family! There are some great toboggan runs in and around Zell am See-Kaprun.
- Directly in Zell am See you will find the 1 kilometer long toboggan run 'Köhlergraben'.
- The well-known 'Kohlschnait' run is in Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße and is only 10 minutes away by car.
- The Spielberghaus toboggan run in Saalbach is just 20 minutes away by car. Here you can hike up to the Spielberghaus in a good 45 minutes and then toboggan down the 3-kilometre-long toboggan run. Night tobogganing on the floodlit run is highly recommended! -
Snowshoeing and winter hiking
Everyone should try a wonderful snowshoe tour through the snow-covered landscape. There are numerous routes for a hike in the region. Whether to the Schützingalm in Thumersbach, to the high-altitude promenade on the Schmittenhöhe or to the Plettsaukopf reservoir - there are numerous tour options. -
Circumnavigation of Lake Zell
Starting from AlpenParks Hotel & Apartment Central, it's a great opportunity to walk around Lake Zell. It is only a 4-minute walk to the esplanade and you walk off in the direction of the Grand Hotel Zell am See. Continue to Thumersbach and then back via Schüttdorf. After a good 2-2.5 hours you have completed the Zellersee loop of around 11.5 kilometers. Now coffee and cake await you in one of the numerous restaurants and cafés in the town center. -
Enjoy the culinary delights of mountain huts
Numerous rustic huts and mountain restaurants in the region invite you to enjoy culinary delights. You should try the following dishes: Pinzgauer Kasnockn, Pinzgauer Bladln with potatoes and bacon, Kaspressknödelsuppe or the Bauerngröstl. When it comes to sweet dishes, Kaiserschmarrn, Germknödel and Moosbeernocken are at the top of the list. -

Cross-country skiing
Whether it's a leisurely round for beginners or a sporty round with a few meters of altitude - there's something for everyone here. On the Brunnwiesloipe or the Golfplatzloipe in Zell am See, for example, you have particularly great views of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area in Kaprun and the Hohe Tauern National Park. The surrounding sports stores also offer cross-country skiing equipment hire (classic and skating). From the end of December to the end of February, a cross-country skiing taster course is also offered on Mondays in Kaprun. -
